The Treatment

The first appointment will take approximately an hour and a half and a full, detailed medical and personal history will be taken and discussed.  Following this, the client’s tongue will be looked at and their pulses taken.  All of which enables a diagnosis to be reached and the optimum treatment plan to be formulated.

The hair fine, disposable needles are then inserted at the relevant points and they remain in place for 21 minutes (as this is the time it takes for one cycle of energy to travel around the body, so you put the needles in and remove them at the same stage of the energy’s journey).  The needles are removed one at a time and put into a secure, sharps container.

The advice after treatment is to keep well hydrated and try to relax as much as possible, since some people feel tired afterwards.

How many treatments will I need?

Much as I hate to say this, it depends…..on how long the illness or condition has been in the body, how severe it is, the emotional state of the person and also their lifestyle.  After the first treatment is completed and feedback is obtained, a better idea of a treatment schedule will be gained.  It may be that the first few appointments will be on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, moving then to a monthly of even quarterly timescale.

What does it cost?

The first appointment costs £50 and subsequent appointments are £40.

Facial acupuncture costs £50 per session or a course of 10 facial acupuncture treatments may be booked at a cost of £450.
